JAMES DIXON, Attorney at Law
James Dixon is a seasoned courtroom veteran with 18 years of litigation and appellate experience. He has represented clients on charges ranging from DUI to aggravated murder. He has won cases at every court level in Washington State from municipal court to the Washington Supreme Court.
James is a compassionate litigator who has been able to use new legal theories to introduce evidence that otherwise would have been inadmissible during trials. James has gained a great deal of respect in the Seattle legal community, and has been invited to speak to other attorneys at legal conferences.
As a senior trial attorney for insurance companies, James has defended hundreds of insurance policy holders in auto, premises, and commercial cases. He was selected to serve in a specialized unit of attorneys that focused on protecting individuals against fraudulent claims.
As a criminal defense attorney, James has successfully defended clients in hundreds of jury trials, bench trials, motions, pre-trial and probation hearings, and appeals.
As an appellate attorney, James has obtained new trials or outright dismissals for his clients following convictions for crimes as diverse as DUI, robbery, vehicular assault, murder, three strikes offenses, sex offenses, and drug convictions.
James Dixon is a graduate of Boalt Hall School of Law at the University California, Berkeley where he was an Executive Editor of the Ecology Law Quarterly.
James is a member of the Washington State Bar, the Federal District Court Bar, the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association where he is an Eagle Member and serves on the Rules Committee. He has also been selected to serve on the Washington State Bar Association's Court Rules Committee, which is responsible for drafting new evidentiary and procedural rules for Washington courts.
