Attorney at Law
Jennifer is a founding partner of Dixon & Cannon, Ltd., and is licensed to practice law in the states of Arizona and Washington. She has many years of litigation experience representing clients in both civil and criminal cases throughout Washington State.
Jennifer has received the highest peer review rating of “AV Preeminent” from Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings. These ratings reflect the confidential opinions of judges and other attorneys. The “AV preeminent” designation reflects the fact that Jennifer’s peers, and the judges she appears before, rank her at the highest level of professional excellence. The “AV Preeminent” rating is awarded to less than 8% of attorneys nationally and is the highest rating offered by Martindale-Hubbell. Jennifer has also received the highest rating of “10 Superb” by AVVO.com, a nationwide attorney rating service.
Jennifer’s years of experience as a former senior trial attorney for insurance companies have been a tremendous asset in helping her attain the best possible results for her clients. As an insurance defense attorney, Jennifer has defended hundreds of policy holders for auto injury and premises liability cases in jury trials, bench trials, motions, mediations, and arbitrations. She was also selected to be an attorney for a specialized fraud unit that focused on defending insurance policy holders against fraudulent insurance claims.
As a criminal defense attorney, Jennifer handles criminal misdemeanor and felony cases in district, municipal, and superior courts. She has successfully defended clients in hundreds of jury trials, bench trials, motions, pre-trial and probation hearings, and appellate briefs. Jennifer also has experience handling high profile domestic violence cases, orders of protection, and immigration issues in the context of criminal cases.
Jennifer has appeared on local TV stations as a legal consultant. In addition to her years of experience in the courtroom, she has continued to sharpen her trial skills by attending several regional seminars at the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College.
Jennifer is a graduate of Suffolk Law School in Boston, MA where she volunteered at the Student Urban Remedy Foundation, Shelter Legal Services Foundation, and Boston Partners in Education. She also participated in second and third year trial competitions as well as the Justice Tom Clark Appellate Competition
Community involvement is very important to Jennifer. She has enjoyed coaching University of Washington Law students, and Roosevelt High School students in mock trial and appellate court competitions. She has also been a member of the Washington Bar Association’s Disciplinary Advisory Roundtable Committee. Currently, she is a member of the parent board at her children’s daycare.
When not practicing law, Jennifer loves spending time with her family. She and her husband have the great fortune of three amazing children—one year-old fraternal twins and a four year-old son. Motherhood has brought a depth and richness to life that enhances the way Jennifer practices law.
